On Monday, The Kills teased their new single “Siberian Nights” with a 15-second preview of its corresponding music video, captioned “TOMORROW.”  As promised, the song and its full-length clip have been revealed today.

The hook of “Siberian Nights” shares similarities to the duo’s previous single, “Doing It To Death”, but the “Ooh Ooh Oohs” are instead replaced with “Da Da Doos” and supported by steady drumming that serves as the skeletal framework of the song. The band’s Jamie Hince can be heard singing “I got a love” for everyone from “the tyrants in a rut” to “the cruel youth.” However, he repeatedly questions a lack of reciprocal affections: “Won’t you tell me please?/ Why they got no love for me?”

As for the video, director/actor Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar, Ted) captures captures beautiful imagery despite primarily filming amongst shadows. Its narrator appears to operate in the same way, unawares and stumbling in the dark when it comes to matters of the heart.

In a message on the band’s Facebook page, The Kills write:

“Our dear friend Giovanni Ribisi followed his wonderful imagination and set out to the salt flats, capturing for us, a wild dream scene of run run run, snarling teeth and beautiful eyes. It’s a weird and wonderful, good and evil, chase and hustle blast of film. We hope you enjoy! Love, The Kills.”

Check out the new song and video above.

“Siberian Nights” is taken from The Kills’ upcoming album Ash & Ice, due out June 3rd via Domino.
